We are seeking a Mining Engineer-in-Training with experience in mine planning, permitting, field works, and project evaluation. This is an ideal opportunity for a recent graduate looking to join a fast-paced environment and lead challenging projects.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to NI-43 101 reports by developing life-of-mine plans including components of underground and surface mine design; mining method selection; pit and stope optimization; drill & blast; ventilation; resource estimation and financial modeling.
  • Conduct underground and surface stability analysis.
  • Conduct due diligence for acquisition and mergers of the mining projects by performing a scoping study.
  • Work with exploration geologists, provincial government, mining companies and environmental professionals to secure exploration permits for junior mining companies.
  • Coordinate with the senior management of mining companies and government agencies to develop proposals by identifying the scope of work, projecting timelines and developing a cost estimate.
  • Develop and execute strategies for business development to acquire new clients.

Qualification

  • Undergraduate or Master’s Degree in Mining Engineering.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in the mining industry.
  • Proficient in MineSight (or similar), Microsoft Excel, Rocscience Suite (Dips, Unwedge, Examine 2D), GIS and AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of machine learning, artificial intelligence, programming and neuro network will be an asset.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines and strong organization skills.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, health, and environment.
  • Qualified to work in Canada. A holder of open work permit, permanent resident or a Canadian citizen.
